Karnataka Diploma CET 2016 / KEA DCET 2016

Karnataka Diploma CET →  Karnataka Diploma Common Entrance Test 2016 is being organized for admission to 2nd year / 3rd semester in Engineering, and first year to Architecture courses. Candidates seeking admission through Lateral Entry Scheme can submit the Karnataka Diploma CET 2016 Application Form and appear in the exam. Based on the DCET results and final year qualifying examination marks, merit is announced for day and evening colleges.

Document Verification

Document verification for eligible Diploma CET-2016 applicants will be held as per the following schedule. Candidates need bring their original documents for verification for any of KEA’s 15 Helpline centre detailed in KEA Website.


• Candidate are  eligible after verification will only be considered for entry of options. The candidate will have the choice to enter all the options to the courses to which he/she is eligible.

Application Fee

The application fee is Rs 650 for Gen and OBC candidates, and Rs 500 for SC / ST Category 1.

Application

2. KEA Online Application Form is released at kea.kar.nic.in.

3. Karnataka DCET 2016 Application Form should be filled by candidates who satisfy eligibility conditions only.

4. While entering details in the KEA DCET Application Form, refer official documents to avoid mistakes.

5. Make payment of fees in the modes prescribed for Karnataka Diploma CET 2016 Application Form by KEA only.

6. Note down the application ID and password generated by KEA after form submission.

Eligibility Criteria


For B.E Courses (Day Engineering College  → A candidate who has passed any diploma examination or equivalent examination and obtained an aggregate minimum of 45% marks taken together in all the subjects of the final year (Fifth and sixth semester) diploma Examination (Q.E) is eligible for admission to B.E courses, and 40% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC, ST and Backward Classes of Karnataka candidates.

For B.E Courses (Evening Engineering College) → A candidate who has passed any diploma examination or equivalent examination and obtained an aggregate minimum of 45% marks taken together in all the subjects of the final year (Fifth and sixth semester) diploma Examination (Q.E) is eligible for admission to B.E. courses, and 40% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC, ST and Backward Classes of Karnataka candidates.

For B. Arch Course (Only in Day Engineering College) → A candidate who has passed any diploma examination or equivalent examination and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects of the final year (Fifth and sixth semester) diploma Examination (Q.E) is eligible for admission to 1st year B. Architecture course, and 45% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC, ST and Backward Classes of Karnataka candidates along with 40% marks in National Aptitude Test for Architecture (NATA) conducted by Council of Architecture.

 Note → Candidates who have obtained Diploma in Architecture are eligible only for Admission to 1st Year Architecture engineering course, provided if they have VALID NATA Score in NATA conducted by Council of Architecture. But, the candidates who have obtained Diploma in Architecture are not eligible for admission to 2nd year / 3rd Semester any other Engineering Courses.

Examination  Pattern & Syllabus

Examination will be held in one session, conducted for 180 marks with 3 hours (180 minutes) duration. Additional 25 Minutes will be given for filling Name, Admission Ticket No. Version Code and Serial Number in the OMR Answer Sheet and Question Booklet. The question paper will be of (Objective) Multiple Choice type. The question paper will be in different versions. Each question will have four different options. Each question will carry ONE mark.

Answer Key

The ANSWER KEY will be published within three days after the completion of the entrance test on the KEA website. The candidates / parents / lecturers, can file their objections, if any, within three days from the date of announcement of the key answers in respect of any of the published answer key, along with the supporting documents & justification. Objections filed by the candidates without justification shall not be considered. Objections received after the last date fixed shall not be considered. Objections received by the KEA will be placed before an Expert Committee, whose decision will be final in this regard.
