Delhi Polytechnic / CET Delhi 2016 Complete Details

CET Delhi →  It started  admission to Diploma (engineering and non-engineering) courses in Government and Government aided polytechnic institutes in Delhi. 85% Seats are reserved for Delhi candidates and 15% for outside Delhi candidates. Eligible candidates can apply online within dates prescribed and download admit card to appear for the exam. Merit list is drawn on the basis of candidates’ performance in the Common Entrance Test, and seat allotment done through centralized counselling uses this merit and choice of candidates for Delhi Polytechnic admission.

 Application form

Candidate should ensure that he / she is eligible before filling up the online application form. A separate form should be filled for each Test (1, 2, 3, 4, 5). In case any mistake has been made in the form, a one-time opportunity is being given for Delhi Polytechnic 2016 application form correction.

Admit card 

Download admit card and carry it on the day of exam. Both parts of the hall ticket are required. Roll number and Examination centre that has been assigned by the exam conducting body will be printed in the hall ticket.

Application Fee

Online Application Fee → Rs. 400/- +Rs.15/-(Bank charges) +Rs.3/-(Service tax) = Total Rs. 418.00 (Including the cost of application form and Common Entrance Test Fee)

Mode of  Fees submission

The fee may be submitted either by any credit/debit card/ net banking.
The fee may be submitted by challan in any branch of corporation bank in India.

TEST Programmes Minimum Qualification
Test 1 For candidates applying for Diploma Courses in Architectural Assistantship, Art for Drawing Teachers, Automobile Engineering, Cosmetology & Health, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering (Construction Technology), Commercial Art, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electronics Engineering (Digital Electronics), Electronics Engineering (Medical Electronics), Fashion Design, Garment Fabrication Technology, Interior Design, Instrumentation & Control, Library & Information Science, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engg. (Maintenance Engg.) , Medical Laboratory Technology, Polymer Technology, Printing Technology, Production Engineering, Civil Engg. (Public Health & Environmental Engineering), Textile Design and Tool & Die Making, Information Technology Enabled Services & Management (ITES&M). The candidate should have passed 10th class of 10+2 System or Matric or any other examination recognized as equivalent to 10th class examination, conducted by CBSE. with minimum 35% aggregate in Science, Mathematics & English The subjects Science, Mathematics and English are compulsory and the candidate should have passed in each of these three.

Note → Candidates passing /qualifying class 10th under the grading system should have obtained minimum pass grade in the compulsory subjects i.e., Science, Mathematics and English.Any other criteria as prescribed by CBSE in new pattern.
Test 2 (A) For candidates applying for Modern Office Practice (English)(B) For candidates applying for one year certificate courses (Hospitality Operations, Retail Services and Finance Executive) in WCSC The candidate should have passed Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (Class XII) of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi in any stream of 10+2 (Academic) or any other examination recognized as equivalent to the Senior Secondary School Certificate with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) in aggregate of best three subjects including English The subject English is compulsory for Modern Office Practice (English) and the candidate should have obtained pass marks in this subject.
Test 3 For candidates applying for Modern Office Practice (Hindi) The candidate should have passed Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (Class XII) of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi in any stream of 10+2 (Academic) or any other examination recognized as equivalent to the Senior Secondary School Certificate with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) in aggregate of best three subjects including Hindi/ Sanskrit. The subject Hindi/Sanskrit is compulsory for Modern Office Practice (Hindi).
Test 4 (A) For candidates applying for Pharmacy(B) For candidates applying for one year certificate course: Soft ware Testing Assistant in WCSC. The candidate should have passed the Senior School Certificate Examination (Class-XII) of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or any other examination recognized by the Pharmacy Council of India as equivalent to the Senior Secondary School Certificate exam of the CBSE with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) in aggregate of Physics, Chemistry & either Biology or Mathematics .The subjects English, Physics, Chemistry and either Mathematics or Biology are compulsory and the candidate should have pass marks in these subjects without considering grace marks.Note: Eligibility for students passed from NIOS / Distance Education will be as per decision of Hon’ble Court / Delhi Government.
Test 5 For admission of 10+2 Vocational Engg. Stream pass outs / ITI pass outs against 10% supernumerary seats in analogous disciplines of Architectural Assistantship, Automobile Engineering, Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering (Construction Technology), Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electronics Engineering (Digital Electronics), Electronics Engineering (Medical Electronics), Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (Maintenance Engineering), – (Polymer Technology, Production Engineering and Civil Engineering, (Public Health & Environmental Engineering), Information Technology Enabled Services & Management (ITES &M) Tools & Die making. The candidate should have passed analogous 12th Vocational (Engg) stream of CBSE or equivalent from Schools located only in Delhi with minimum 60% marks in aggregate of best five subjects for which marks are reflected in the mark sheet, without considering grace marks in these best five subjects.OrPassed 10th class of CBSE or equivalent + 2 years ITI (Engg) from ITI s/ITCs. The ITI s/ ITCs must be from Institutes located only in Delhi and affiliated to DGE&T/BTE, Delhi with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate of all subjects reflected in the mark sheet.

Age Limit



Entrance Test Pattern

1. The test paper will contain 150 objective-type questions in all. Each question will be provided with four alternative answers marked (1), (2), (3) and (4).

2. In Pharmacy, there will be total 210 questions, out of which the students have to attempt 150 questions by taking 60 questions either from Mathematics or from Biology.

3. Each question shall carry four (04) marks. There will be negative marking for incorrect answers. One (01) mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

4. Tests will be of two hours and thirty minutes duration and will carry 600 marks.

5. The medium / language of the question papers for the entrance test will be as under –

• Test 1,4 & 5 : English and Hindi (Bilingual)
• Test 2 : English
• Test 3 : Hindi

6. In case of any discrepancy in the bilingual question papers pertaining to Test Nos. 1,4,& 5, the English version will be considered as the correct version.

7. The tests will be held in Delhi only.

2. No separate communication will be sent in this regard, it will be sole responsibility of the candidate to check the updates on the website regularly.

3. All candidates are advised to note down their Application No and Password for reference and future use.

4. Only Online Application form will be accepted, no other mode will be entertained.

5. Candidates should visit the website regularly for latest information/notice of CET-2016. No separate communication will be sent in this regard.

6. Candidates should submit separate online application form for each test.

7. See the eligibility criteria before submitting the Form.

8. Multiple payments of fees for the same application will not be refunded under any circumstances.

9. Students who have prepared for the qualifying examination in 2015 and are awaiting results are also eligible to apply but their admission will be subject to the production of the proof of having acquired minimum qualification.

10. Separate applications are to be submitted for each test.

11. In case there are any changes in contents/dates, the same shall be displayed on the website.
